AFR

Running time: 84 mins

Imagine a documentary about George W. Bush?s homosexual lover assassinating him with a car bomb.

AFR is the Danish equivalent of just such a story. Anders Fogh Rasmussen (AFR) -- the current prime minister of Denmark ? aims to reform the industrialized West?s economic policies toward the Third World. He meets Emil, an anarchist with severe neuroses. Emil and Rasmussen are both bisexual and each a reformist in his own way. But their lives are as different as can be.

This is the basis of Morten Hartz Kalpers? ?serious? mockumentary about Danish society. Using actors, news footage and heavy editing, the director creates a revisionist biography for Rasmussen and a new Danish political state. AFR also asks: ?Did the police rush to judgment, leading to the killing of the prime suspect?? It leaves us asking, ?What if??

In the end, the tightly woven strand of lies (or are they truths?) enthrall and entertain for a provocative and often moving story of politics and love.
