Time to Die

Running time: 104 mins

Just because you?re very, very old, doesn?t mean you?re already dead.

Aniela is 91 years-old, sharper than a tack, and not about to let anyone push her around. Each day, with her border collie companion Phila at her side, she lives life fully and on her own terms. When greedy new neighbors and Aniela?s unfeeling son try to dupe her out of her property, they learn the hard way that the woman may be elderly, but she still has plenty of tricks up her sleeve.

Photographed in shimmering black and white, Dorota Kedzierzawska (Nothing, Cinequest 2000) returns to Cinequest with this heartfelt and thoughtful, yet vigorous and fun sumptuous feast for the eyes and ears and hardy nourishment for the soul. Actress Danuta Szaflarska belies her age by at least twenty years and provides a performance at once natural and extraordinary. Though her name may not be widely known, her exquisite acting and her sheer presence shout ?star? in every sense of the word.
