High & Outside: A Baseball Noir

Running time: 98 mins

Good genes have nothing to do with it. After a bad year in the minor leagues, Phil Harding must return home to live with his aging father, the once great major league baseball player Len Harding. Phil’s return home means he’s asked to face reality – his ex-wife, his young daughter, and ultimately himself; something he refuses to do. Grasping at straws, Phil turns to his agent, who suggests he attend a baseball development camp. The catch: Phil needs money. But when his father can’t provide the money, Phil decides to sell drugs. And though Len goes to great lengths to save Phil from destruction, sometimes not even a father’s love can protect his son from himself. – Michael Quintana
