CHEF DAVID KINCH
A chef's chef, Silicon Valley's own David Kinch has created a signature style that has won the James Beard Award for Best Chef and two Michelin Stars for Manresa many years running. Manresa was named one of the World's 50 Best Restaurants by Restaurant Magazine and America's Top 50 Restaurants by Gourmet Magazine. Many refer to Kinch's cooking philosophy as terroir or "sense of place," and he has led the way in the now popular "farm to table" cuisine--most notably via his thriving partnership with Love Apple Farms' Cynthia Sandberg. Growing up, his father's business took Kinch to New Orleans where he developed a love of culture, food, and making people happy. He's succeeded...big time.
FARMER CYNTHIA SANDBERG
Attorney-turned-farmer Cynthia Sandberg is the force and heart behind the aptly named Love Apple Farms (from pomme d'amour, the old French name for tomatoes alluding to their aphrodisiac qualities). What started as cultivating fine heirloom tomatoes turned into a booming farm, attracting the eye of David Kinch, Chef-Proprietor of the Michelin-starred Manresa restaurant in Los Gatos. In a farm-to-fork collaboration, Love Apple produces over three hundred different kinds of produce.
