Trust me: if you stay up late and watch that Mr. Juicemister infomercial just one more time, your head's gonna explode. Don't go to bed, for heaven's sake; throw a beat-up old raincoat over those PJ's and come and join us for some not-sanctioned-by-the-PMRC fun. After Hours anyone? This year the six films in the program run the gamut from: campy...to goofy...to really campy...to goofier...to an Homeric Odyssey...more camp...Dame Edna...a woman who turns into a pterodactyl...and Pee Wee Herman. You know: the usual stuff. We kick things off Friday night with Plan 10 From Outer Space. The title says it all: if you're in the mood for a little 'klaatu barada nikto' action - and if that alien autopsy special on Fox didn't answer all the questions you had about you-know-whats - then this is your film. Saturday, it's the greatest in campy film previews - from the Golden Age to present. Naturally, the film's titled Trailer Camp. Whether you crave late Joan Crawford or early Michael Jackson, you'll be sure to find it here. On Sunday, we get the chance to tackle some weighty legal issues regarding artists and "fair use", but we do so in a most unconventional way. See what happens when a group of Sonic Outlaws who call themselves Negativland sample a super-group and, then, take a header through the looking glass. On Monday, we dine on Toast With The Gods. It's a Seattle grunge thang; it's a Homeric Odyssey thang. Don't worry: Eddie Vedder has nothing to do with this film. To wrap things up Tuesday we've got one of the festival's hottest tickets, and a WORLD PREMIERE. Beverly D'Angelo is the Pterodactyl Woman From Beverly Hills. She may be turning prehistoric, but it's too late for Gestalt or, even, Primal Sream to save the day. And with a little help from Dame Edna, Brion James and Moon "Unit" Zappa, it's sure to be a hoot. The fun doesn't stop when the lights come up. After the screening, join us(and some special guests) at South First Billiards. Eat, drink - shoot some pool - be merry.
