The Reunion (Klassfesten)
Running time: N/A
Magnus is definitely leery about his high school reunion and does not have much of a desire to go back to his so-called "glory days." There is, however, one reason to face the risk of humiliation by the people he never wants to see again-and her name is Hillevi. Hillevi was the class rebel. For reasons unknown to Magnus, Hillevi chose him as the guy she wanted to be with. Magnus had dreams of running away with Hillevi, but when he missed his one chance to go with her, she left, never to be heard from again. With the memory of "the girl that might have been" haunting him, Magnus decides to go to the reunion on the slight chance that Hillevi will show. Ma?ns Herngren and Hannes Holm's The Reunion comically and painfully examines the anxiety-ridden days of youth, as well as mid-life dreams of longing for a life that could have been. As Magnus, Bjorn Kjellman sympathetically portrays an everyday man who is willing to throw it all away to relive a past that may have never existed. And while The Reunion will remind you of everything bad about your school days, it is also a touchingly funny love story that proves how some people actually do change and grow for the better. - Sandy Wolf
