In the Eyes of a Child: Women's Life Collective

Running time: N/A

World Premiere Director Holly Mosher chronicles the workings of the Women's Life Collective, a Brazilian community organization aimed at helping women of all ages battle the cycles of mental and physical violence. These women have their moment in the sun as they convene to explore how to stand up for themselves, defend themselves, and show inner strength. By sorting through the painful realities of domestic violence and sexual exploitation, they discover that the first step to finding a way out of their troubles is to simply talk to each other. Full of depth, they renew their spirits by going beyond what society expects of them - they make a point to help the younger generation of boys who will one day be the fathers and husbands of their world. Those who feel they don't have a voice find out they have so much to say. - John Ignowski. Preceded by: Soft (Micky Hohl, United States/19min/35mm) A hot summer day, and Josef is being shipped out today. What possible way could single mom, Janet, express exactly what she is feeling?
