United States Premiere Gregor is a laconic Berlin radio host with a "thing" for Tim Hardin songs and an obsession with his former lover. Mai is a happy-go-lucky twenty-something romantic in love with her roommate's boyfriend who looks at her like a sister. About the only thing Mai and Gregor have in common is an unrequited love. After barely escaping a near fatal car accident, Mai notices Gregor's signature Tim Hardin song on the radio. This spurs her to attempt to contact Gregor, which she does via the Internet. Under the guise Female2, Mai makes contact with Gregor-email: HappyEnd-and a virtual relationship forms. Gregor is reluctant to meet Mai, not only concerned for what might occur if Mai actually discovers the real HappyEnd, but also that the real Female2 will not live up to his expectations. Mai, however, is not one to take "no" for an answer. Young director Edward Berger has created a cyber-romance that is sometimes comic, other times touching, but at all times creative. Using imaginative images and a sensitive soundtrack, Female2 Seeks HappyEnd explores the nature of fate and how it can affect the linking of an unlikely couple. Reviewed by Sandy Wolf
