Paul Lazarus' romantic comedy, Seven Girlfriends, is a quick-witted look at losing (or is it gaining?) love, marriage, and an accidental death. Jesse is really worried this time. His realization that he has screwed up things with his last girlfriend, Anabeth, comes too late as she meets an untimely, yet comical, demise. After being rejected in his offer of marriage by Hannah (his boss), he begins to wonder why he hasn't been able to maintain relationships with women, although he has no trouble finding new loves. Now in his thirties, Jesse decides to revisit his former girlfriends to find out the real motivation for each break-up. The search carries him into a myriad of intense situations between him and his former lovers, culminating in the funeral of the deceased girlfriend. Jesse's encounters with each woman are hilarious and extraordinary and an exercise in what-if scenarios. Paul Lazarus is a respected television director, and Seven Girlfriends marks his film directing debut. Utilizing the talents of many veteran stars of the big and small screen, Lazarus creates a tale of rediscovered love and obtaining self-knowledge...although, as we all know, that path is very seldom tread without obstacles. --Ed Soohoo
