Perfect Moment

Perfect Moment

Running time: N/A

The post-1980s world has left American mankind in an altered state. Society is recovering from the world dictator wealth-driven culture. What else could explain the connection between nationally syndicated talk show host Larry King , singer/songwriter Colin Hay (Men at Work), and a rape victim from a night club. Filmmaker Nicholas Hondrogen searches for the essence that captures the new vision, the new quest for Americans N- living for the moment. The answers that are revealed when Hondrogen asks the question of more than 80 people: ''If you were to die tomorrow, what moment would you most remember, and how did it change your life?'' are as diverse as those that were interviewed. Poet, writer and activist Maya Angelou begins making the tie with her poignant narration of Edgar Allen Poe's ''Masque of the Red Death'' as quick-cut nightmare depictions of a world of greed, murder and AIDS fill the screen. While making the film, Hondrogen himself searches for his perfect moment and takes the audience on a personal voyage. Through his own growth and the words of many, director Nicholas Hondrogen discovers precisely how personal it is. Perfect Moment, winner of the 1997 Slamdance Audience Award, features such guests as Maya Angelou, Philip Glass and Irwin Winkler, along with songs from Elton John, Sinead O'Connor, Philip Glass. --Lisa Grimm
