Adosados

Adosados

Running time: N/A

Based on the novel by Felix Bayon (who co-wrote the screenplay), Adosados explores the ''nonsense of suburban life.'' Andres is an accountant dedicated to reporting the truth, both at work and at home. He and his wife, Paula, have committed to a ''coherentO'' relationship; that is, a relationship based on fidelity, respect, and most importantly, the truth. Despite this, a simple outing with his dog, Bobo, leads to a disturbing vortex of lies upon lies, sucking him in, altering his life dramatically, and even jeopardizing his family and personal safety. Andres and Paula, living in suburban serenity, will never again look upon their own lives in the same way. Andres' web of lies hasn't yet begun when he encounters Yuri, a Russian immigrant. Alone on the edge of both the city and the suburbs, Yuri wants only to be with his family again. Then, he happens upon Andres in need of help and a friend. Camus reveals, through lies, the truth about Andres' and Paula's relationship, about an act of kindness juxtaposed against xenophobic rage, about the nature of Paula's definition of ''coherence'' and about the mystery of living in the suburbs. Winner International Critics Award at the World Festival Montreal. --Jeffrey Vargas
