Filmmaker Ellen Spiro and her aging dog Sam hit the road in this entertaining and thought-provoking documentary about nomadic senior citizens who give new meaning to the word "retirement." While many people include traveling among their old-age plans, these self-described "Geritol gypsies" take the idea to its extreme. First there's the Wally Byam Club, named after the inventor of their beloved airstream trailer. These folks gather at rallies all around the country to form what must look from the heavens like a rolling toaster convoy. After Ellen and Sam part ways with this cult, they cross paths with a variety of elderly artists, musicians, crafters, and others--some singles, others in couples or groups, most with dogs--who seem to share not just wanderlust but an independent spirit and a desire to experience everything life has to offer. --Rod Myers
