Party At Sam's
Running time: N/A
If the love of your life has dumped you like a wet bag of garbage and you need to smile... Or, if you're that young new actress/wanna-be who hungers for stardom, but can't even get arrested... Or, if you're that obsessive gambler whose dream weekend in Vegas just came up craps... Or maybe you're the local vampire just out cruising for a different kind of cocktail... Huh? Well, if you're any of these things and you're looking for a good old-fashioned, all-night party, with crazy characters oozing out of every crack in the wall, there's only one place to go. And that, my friend, is Sam's. No matter what your pleasure, obsession, or neurosis, you'll always find what you're looking for at Sam's. In Party At Sam's, writers Eboch and Markowitz have created a notable and good-natured spoof on contemporary Los Angeles and the weird human filings and flakes that that old reliable dream-magnet of a city still attracts. Shot like a home movie, the film careens around the crowded apartment, eaves-dropping on the party-goers as they ironically expose themselves to be the hapless dimwits they so self-righteously disparage in their conversations. Yes, sir. In between the warm beer and the stale pretzels, it's nothing but a yuk-fest at Sam's. --Pete Crane
