The idea is simple. Get next to the President to film a staged assassination attempt. Make it look realistic. Don't use actors. But what happens when the plan takes a sinister turn, and you can no longer tell the difference between reality and fiction? You have one crazy ride on your hands is what you have, and the action does not stop until the you've sunk into the ultimate depths of madness. Radical filmmaker Arthur Gwenlyn is set on making the definitive Presidential assassination film. His only problem is that his cast and crew can no longer tell if Arthur is actually going through with it or if he is only making a film. That's where the Secret Service steps in, as they have become aware of Arthur and his crew's actions. Using Arthur's girlfriend and cinematographer, Elizabeth, also afraid that Arthur is going too far, the Secret Service begins their full investigation and surveillance of the film. Director Paul Williams has been termed "the lost member of the De Palma-Schrader-Scorsese generation". THE NOVEMBER MEN, his sixth feature film, skillfully blends real-live Presidential footage with cinema verite technique to create a unique sense of unconventional realism. THE NOVEMBER MEN is Paul Williams' first feature after ten years away from the big screen, and is full of a vibrant energy which should have a lasting impression on audiences for many more months than just November. --Mike Rabehl
