Shorts Competition Program 7: Student Shorts
Running time: 192 mins
The Student Shorts program showcases the diversity, talent, and creative vision of student filmmakers through a variety of styles, genres, and viewpoints. Contributions include shorts from Bay Area film schools such as Gordo (Academy of Art), in which a Mexican immigrant subverts the fast food taco restaurant business. There are also films from schools across the country. From Olyver Brody (Florida State University), there's a dark fairy tale about a man who must not fall asleep. International films like Tougher Yet (Munich Film School) look at a strained relationship that goes deeper than it seems. Through tales of love and war, of loneliness and obsession, of the real and the fantastic, each film takes a fresh approach to the art of storytelling and displays the kind of unique, raw style that only student filmmakers can.Nathan Zanon
