Tick Tock Lullaby
Running time: 83 mins
With time quickly running out, an aspiring cartoonist is forced to confront her indecision about the intricate and multi-faceted nature of parenthood. Sasha is unable to reach a firm decision. For most people, parenthood is a natural part of life, but Sasha and her girlfriend can?t seem to commit to this path. Perhaps she is being too analytical.Sasha?s overactive imagination compels her to create various female characters in her cartoons. Through these characters, Sasha is able to witness her options unfold. Like Sasha, these characters also struggle with the numerous problems that arise from the pursuit of motherhood; the various facets of parenthood are explored through these characters? stories.
Inevitably, Sasha?s personal life, as well as her opinion towards parenthood, becomes affected by the journeys of these characters. The line between fantasy and reality becomes increasingly indistinct. Lisa Gornick?s Tick Tock Lullaby is a subtle and touching story that presents a unique perspective on parenthood.
