Holes in My Shoes

Holes In My Shoes

Running time: 90 mins

Jack Beers, an extraordinary 94-year-old New Yorker, has broken the age barrier full force. Jack was raised in severe poverty in Manhattan, was known as New York City's Strongest boy, helped build Radio City Music Hall, invented something that shortened WW2, erected the Empire State Building spire, was a professional dog trainer, and we recognize him as a familiar character actor in over 200 films. Somewhat of a real-life Zelig or Forrest Gump, through Jack's life, you'll journey through a whole century like never before.

The award-wining feature documentary allows Jack to tell his unique and life-changing story, as we re-visit his old haunts; from delapidated temenent apartments to the very top of the Empire State Building where from a helicopter shot we experience Jack singing his heart out. You'll experience New York City in a whole new light. We see him beat terminal illnesses, continue exercising, and doing feats of strength like a young man full of hope for tomorrow - it's infectious. Like Jack Beers the film is deeply moving, energetic, funny, and inspiring. Mayor Bloomberg and many other New York City icons participate in the film. "I loved it...a beautiful love poem to New York and all her indefatigable energy." (Eben Harrell - Arts Critic, The Scotsman, Edinburgh) He's going for 100! Many have called it a life-changing film.
