Seven and a Half

Seven and a Half (Sedam I

Running time: 70 mins

Seven and a Half presents seven stories, each representing one of the seven deadly sins. These humorous and sometimes absurd stories, as enacted by residents of Belgrade, demonstrate that greed, sloth, anger, lust, pride, gluttony and envy are universal human traits.

Whether it?s a bodybuilder on steroids, a couple at a food art exhibit, a police inspector looking for Internet pedophiles or lazy idlers mooching free beers, these Serbian sinners are driven to extremes by their weaknesses, demonstrating that we people know no bounds when it comes to our passion.

Director Miroslav Momcilovic avoids moralizing. Instead, his aim is to entertain, and he hilariously succeeds, tying all the tales together in an affecting and redemptive way. Whether or not you agree that any, or all, of these Mortal Sins are actually sinful, you will undoubtedly agree that Seven and a Half presents humanity and all its foibles with just the right amount of splendor.
