The Heart of Jesus

Running Time: 88 mins

The Heart of Jesus is a biting comedy that examines life in a very poor society. Aged public employee Jesús Martínez walks into his office one morning and has to be rushed to the emergency room after suffering a heart attack. Although he comes out alive, things go from bad to worse when his wife leaves him, and the clinic?s exorbitant bills pile up on his desk.

Taking advantage of a mix-up of medical test results, Jesús decides to escape his debts by pretending to be gravely ill and taking refuge in the hospital. While the companies wait for him to make a single mistake and reveal the ruse, Jesús interacts surprisingly with the other patients, learning about life and, maybe, himself.

One of this year?s most impressive films, Loayza Marks? The Heart of Jesus charts one man?s original, darkly funny journey into a society?s injustices, and his own desire to live. Punctuating the action with stirring guitar performances, the film is exceptionally well-crafted entertainment that opens the mind along the way.
