Félix is a petty thief looking for work. Roberto takes him in to help around the house where he lives with his wife Mercedes and their eight-month-old baby boy Chango. Félix immediately notices that something is amiss between his new employer and wife, and it is apparent that domestic abuse is the source.

Félix is increasingly aware that Mercedes is at her wit?s end, and Chango is suffering equally, receiving less and less attention from both parents. Félix realizes that, like him, Chango is essentially an orphan and that something must be done, if Chango, this little boy, is to live. The two establish a bond that will take them across the country together, as Félix becomes increasingly determined to help the child.

Both profoundly moving and unpredictable, María Victoria Menis? Little Sky is a beautifully haunting story of the loving bond developed between Félix and Chango. Menis skillfully develops their unlikely relationship, establishing an intimacy between two people who find a reliance on one another?whether it is for survival or to simply give one?s life meaning.
