Say "elephant shoes" really fast and it sounds like "I love you." That's what Manny tells Alexis in Christos Courligas' delightfully romantic comedy'a tale of two people discovering if a person you quickly fall in love with really is "the one."
 
Through a chance encounter, Manny and Alexis meet when she asks him for directions outside his Montreal apartment. After some witty repartee and obvious flirtation, Manny invites Alexis to dinner, which quickly turns into a turbulent and intense whirlwind love affair, all of which takes place in 12 hours within the confines of Manny's apartment.
 
As the only two characters, Greg Shamie and Stacie Morgain Lewis have an unmistakable chemistry, which lends not only credibility to their roles, but also likeability to one another and the viewer. As the love affair unfolds, the two trek through the various stages all relationships must go through (although rarely at the speed of a half-day). Secrets and truths are soon revealed, and at the end of the day, Manny and Alexis discover that saying "elephant shoes" may not be as easy as it sounds.
