Kiss the Bride

Kiss the Bride

Running time: N/A

Featuring an all-star cast, Vanessa Parise's wonderful Kiss the Bride is an insightful and humorous look into the lives of a passionate but disparate Italian-American family and their individual struggles for love and validation. Danni is about to marry her true love, and the last thing her three sisters thought they'd be doing is returning home to Westerly, Rhode Island for Danni's wedding. Niki, the golden child, now lives in L.A., where her dreams of becoming a star have instead landed her a role on a Baywatch-type television show, much to her parents' chagrin. Next in line is Chrissy, a top trader on Wall Street, psychologically trapped in the shadow of her older sister. Toni, the youngest and the definitive rebel, has always felt neglected and now sings cover songs in dive bars with her girlfriend. Reunited, the girls' insecurities and anxious disquiets come to the fore, egged on by infantile jealousies and their father Santo's seemingly universal disapproval. While Mrs. Sposato concocts sumptuous dishes in the kitchen, the girls and their father must confront their pasts and reconcile their differences to truly connect as a family, and celebrate Danni's wedding in the joyous spirit that was intended. Already an established actor in NYC's Off-Broadway theatre scene, director Parise has concocted an original and often funny story for lovers of My Big Fat Greek Wedding.
