“Old World” dad, meet your “New World” kids.

Nominated for the Harold Crain Dramatic Writing Award, Mark Tran’s debut feature is a humorous and loving tribute to home and family—a tale that appeals to any age. Mr. Do has raised his kids to be good Catholics and to live up to his unrealistic expectations. His son, Ty, is a college student who refuses to be the “model minority” his father always wanted him to be. Daughter Linh is keeping her fiancé’s Buddhist beliefs a secret, fearing that Dad will not support her marriage to a non-Catholic. But they aren’t the only kids with secrets in the Do family, and with the need to take their own paths in life, it’s time Dad faces the truth that his children are growing up.

Delightfully droll, yet mixed with great tenderness and humanism, All About Dad is the first (and probably the funniest) story to address in depth the universal lives of an ignored community—Vietnamese-Americans.
